And it turned out that regina and i were going for the ndp thingy to form the largest human Singapore flag. After we left the airport, we were literally walking zombies (including char, christine and fabian). Regina and i couldnt find a place to sleep and had lotsa time to spare before we had to reach raffles place mrt. Lol. So we went around trying to spread our tiredness at marina square, then went citylink, then raffles city before we took mrt to raffles place to meet her friend jiahao and his mom at 2pm.
Btw at citylink, we saw freaking cool topshop displays from downstairs and regina excitedly said she wanna take photo hahaha. I took a photo of her from all the way opposite. Then i say i want also. Very embarrassing can cos a lot of people. When it was my turn, i finally understood why regina went off so quickly after her photo was taken. Lol.
Yeah i'm wearing red. Cos national day!
I find it really sweet of her friend to ask his mom to go cos i feel that generally young people nowadays seldom volunteer to spend time together with parents. Unless they go for family dinner/gathering/relative-visiting etc. Those no-choice-then-aiya-just-go-lor or those free-things/food-arh-okay-let's-go thingy. Like, you know. Yeah. Hahaha. Not saying that people dont do it lar, i have friends who will. But. Aiya you know de. In general. HAHA.
Anyway. The ndp thingy at the padang was an add-on to the actul parade, meaning that we wont get to see much stuff live. But we do get to see the pilots with their awesome planes-thingy and it was so damn cool =D i stopped feeling so miserable when they started flying over the padang. (Yeah was feeling kinda miserable cos it was raining and we were wearing ponchos and it was wet and dirty lol. OMG at the amount of plastic we wasted!! Thousands and thousands of red rain ponchos = tons and tons of toxic litter =X)
But thinking back, it was a damn cool experience. Seeing all the singaporeans from all walks of life and culture coming together so patriotically (YES, even smoking lians and bengs) is kinda touching and really lifts your spirits. Happy birthday Singapore!
P.S.: It was the first time i ate ice-cream in the rain lol.
At 2.35pm (note the empty bridge) :
Then at 5.28pm (OMG!!):
Before it rains (super hot, no joke):
This building literally started twinkling cos all the ppl in their rooms were taking photos with flash! :
Night falls:
Fireworks! :
